Palatul Roznovanu, Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt 11, Iași 700259, România

The edifice has a glorious history, being built in 1832 in Neoclassical style, by the rich family Rosetti-Roznovanu according to the plans of the Viennese architect Gustav Freywald and was redesigned in 1891 in French eclectic style. The love of the owner of the palace, Neculai Rosetti Roznovanu, for Lady Maria Sturdza is a famous romantic story. The legend says that the palace was lost in a card game. It was then bought by the mayor Vasile Pogor, whose bust is found in the front garden. During World War I, the Court of Cassation and Justice, as well as the Archive were installed here, and since 1969 it has been hosting the City Hall. The Hall of honour impress by its marble Corinthian columns. The Grand Hall “Vasile Pogor” and the access hallways display the portrait gallery of former mayors. (PHOTO : Cosmin CEUCĂ)
