Iași City Art Galleries and Municipal Visual Memory Centre

The “Saint Friday” passage was built in 2012 near the Central Market Hall Square. It is located in an archaeological site, with exposed walls and foundations of cellars belonging to former boyar houses dating from the 18th century. The Iași City Art Galleries began here in 2012, hosting paintings, sculptures and tapestries of artists of Iași and from the region of Moldavia, who are usually members of the Fine Artists Association. The Visual Memory Centre, founded in 2016, promotes the city through the eyes of amateur photographers and professionals interested in urban photography. This Centre owns a photo gallery and often organises exciting competitions, such as “Be a Photographer of Iași”, exhibitions, and photography classes. (PHOTO : Mihai BULAI)
