Pietonalul Lăpușneanul 24, Iași 700057, România
Since 1992, the galleries have hosted an entire artistic and cultural universe within a seemingly small space dominated by paintings and the works of the great poet Mihai Eminescu. This space is comprised of hundreds of old books, jewellery, art objects, as well as an encyclopaedia of stories, told by antiquarian Dumitru Grumăzescu. This is where the first “pocket theatre” in the country was founded, where famous actors such as Horațiu Mălăele and Ion Caramitru evolved. Among the special features that can be found here are the collection of the smallest books in Romania and the entire Jules Verne collection. The meetings of the epigrammatists of Iași, members of the “Păstorel“ Free Academy, music evenings, art exhibitions, and book launches also give life to these galleries. (PHOTO : Mihai BULAI)
